make a sandblaster out of air compressor?
is that possible? my school has a sandblaster that i use occasionally to make designs in mirrors for art projects, and it looks like its just an air compressor with sand coming out the nozzle. my dad has an air compressor and i was wondering if theres anyway to somehow convert it into a sandblaster?
Hello,,yeah these other guys are right,,you’ll want to have a separate container for the silica sand,or whatever you are using,,there is a feeder hose from the air compressor up into a junction where the hose from the sand container meets and then into a spray nozzle. You will need to have protection from the dust (it’ll kill your lungs)also if you can get a area enclosed and you are able to recover the sand (like a large drop cloth on the floor) you’ll be able to reuse most of the sand used on other projects,,just use a screen to sift out the oily larger pieces.
