91 Wrangler leaf springs and axle nut?
How do you know when axle is relieved enough to remove leaf spring u-bolt nuts and how hard should I bang on the axle nuts to get them off without breaking something? They are frozen tight! Have used some liquid wrench and a 6 ft leverage bar but nothing yet!

You need to jack the Jeep up so the tires are off the ground. Place jack stands under the frame on both sides. Lower the jack. Those nuts should have 90-110 lbs of torque on them. Sounds like you need a sawzall or grinder to cut the U bolts off. You will then need to buy new u-bolts and nuts. Do what you need to do and re-install the u-bolts and tighten to 100ft lbs of torque. If you are removing the springs (to lift it or replace), when you reinstall them, tighten the shackles to 15 ft lbs with all the weight of the vehicle on the tires (no jack or stands under it). 15 FT LBS IS NOT VERY TIGHT. iF YOU TIGHTEN THEM MORE, IT WILL RIDE ROUGH.
