can bullets penetrate tungsten?
i want to have a 67 inch odachi sword but i want the blade to be made of tungsten. what are the advantages and disadvantages of making the blade out of tungsten and can it be done
?
for your first question, it depends on the thickness of the tungsten, and it’s shape, and on the size and speed of the bullet. It also depends on the composition and tempering of the metal.
If the tungsten is in the form a sword, it would be knocked aside if the bullet didn’t actual snap it in half.
for your second question:
I would imagine you could make the sword out of a tungsten alloy as well as a steel alloy, but any comparison between the two would depend on the exact alloy used.
