Crown Molding

Is the resale value of adding crown molding worth the expense?

I’m going to be selling my house in the next couple of years and was wondering if it would be worth it to add crown molding? I love the look but want to be sure I’ll get my money back out of it.
My house is small but nice and in a nice area. I’m just thinking of things that will help it sell a little quicker in this tough market.

In my opinion I think it would improve the selling aspects of the house but not actually add to the value. In other words it may help you house sell faster.

As for the expense, if you have to hire it done I suggest not doing the upgrade but if you are doing the labor yourself then the material alone would be cost effective.
