I waited very patiently for the camera and was excited when I finally got two of them, my husband, one for me.
When we use them we noticed a problem between the program.
I used the sports mode to capture the birds flying in the midday sun in Florida and kicked the camera’s ISO 3200! Needless to say, so that the images were overexposed, and really loud. I called Canon tech I talked to found it too much in relation to ISO. He even went so far as to go out and test one of its players were involved and got the same result. So the programming problem, not my specific camera.
I used the camera last night, the night scenery, and received ISO 400! It’s almost like the sensor is restored, this ISO so the sun and the darkness is not enough.
The only thing that Canon would shoot in manual mode and then I could control settings. Well, fine, but why the program even if the way may very well? My husband used to buy a sports car than a 5-speed gearbox and the car. Generally used a 5-speed manual, but sometimes you want to be lazy and just use auto and Cruise. So how would you feel if the car’s transmission does not work?
I can not see paying $ 900 + for a camera that has only a few usuable control. Fortunately there was still time to return and was sent back and refund your money. I’ll stick to my XTi, which is much better.

Everything I was hoping for
Wanted a step up from compact cameras. I tried the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 but the focus wasn’t as fast and low light pictures were not great. Doesn’t seem to be a substitute for a good SLR.

Great improvements over XSi, T1i
I think that all of the approx 6 improvements over an XSi (used earlier) and T1i are significant. The sensor and the image processor definitely improve the picture quality in various difficult conditions. The increased mega-pixels help if you need to do crops or large prints else you can use it at around 8megs. The HD video is smooth. The LCD is pretty good. The quick setting button etc are very handy. The native eye-fi interface is neat when used with a wifi SD card. I’m using it with a Tamron “AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical IF Macro Zoom Lens” and so far I really like the results.

T2i is amazing. Whether you want a nice HD camera for fun, to take some pictures, to start a Photo/Video business or to produce an Indie Film…the T2i is a great option for the price. If used correctly the Video can come out looking VERY Cinematic. Slap on a nice L Series lens, shoot in 24p and use a Glidetrack for some dolly shots and you won’t believe the results.
I loved it so much I bought a second one. My only gripe is the sound and the lack of manual control in that area…but I record all of my audio on an external device anyways so it’s not THAT big of a deal. It’s just that, every once in a while I’d like to go out and throw on any old mic and get some decent audio…and I have yet to really do that.
Small gripe for me personally. You may need to invest in a Rode Shotgun mic to get some decent audio if you don’t record externally.
