Drive Deep Socket
Front Sway Bar End Link Bushing Replacement?
I have a Ford 2000 V6 Mustang. The end link bushings have are worn out pretty bad. The wheel on the passenger side is missing the top bushing from the control arm. Im guessing thats whats causing the squeaking when I drive.
My question is how do I hold the the link in place without spinning so I can get the nuts off and replace the bushing. I tried taking the wheel off and raising the control arm to relieve some of the spring pressure but once I take the nut off the bottom (control arm) when i go to take out the top (on the sway bar) it only spins in place.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Except the one where I have to take a grinder and cut the link in half. I was thinking of taking two deep sockets and spinning them in opposite directions. WD-40 Perhaps?
Yes, spin in opposite direction. Heating the nuts helps also. It expands them. If you get atleast one off, you can use vise grips to hold the shaft for the second nut.
