How can I install an electric outlet from the room side if I can not get into the finished wall?

I need a new power outlet in the kitchen on an existing finished outside wall. I can put a small hole in the wall to insert a box. I can run the wire up through the wall from below. But I can not get inside the wall to nail the box to a stud, and I want to support the box somehow. How can I support the box if I just work from the kitchen side of the wall?

if you are in the united states go to a hardware store and get a single gang pop in box also known as an old work box. you cut a hole in the wall the same size as the box, insert the box, and tighten two screws. the screws move two anchoring ears that grab the back of the drywall and pinch the drywall between the ears and the box tabs. any home store, or hardware store will have this box. if you have to use a metal box for your local codes you need a pair of battleship clips. ask the dude in the electrical department.
