Hot air gun element blown?
Was using my black and decker heat/hot air gun and it cut out and the back element had smoke coming from it with an awful smell. Is the gun broken? Is it repairable etc.

As “maca” posted. Its probably better to cut your losses and buy a new one. From your description, smell etc, its not just the element. It would seem that there is also something wrong with the motor or fan.
I repair power tools etc as part of my living and rarely find hot air guns worth repairing, assuming you can get the parts anyway.
