Are there serious splinters?

I have a 4-port router. Not the problem. In my office there is only one connection for the phone and it's on the other PLUS side of the room I have a phone in here and a fax machine. So the phone cord from the wall with a splitter running. The splitter has a line to the phone and the other line to the 4-port router. This slowed my DSL. The splitter I bought could not have been more than $ 10 and I think it's a piece of shit. Is there Are "heavy duty" splitter to isolate the real connection and protect it from slowness?

The first issue here is one possible misunderstanding: why you blame the splitter? You're right that the wiring can on the side of the line box to make a difference in the speed of the connection, but the splitter would not the first thing I would look at me. A "heavy duty" splinter would actually worsen the problem. Heavy duty would mean larger components, the stray capacitance, which are very amount that you are looking to minimize is, would increase. I would take to connect the cable between the line look like box and the router. Internal standard Phone cable is not really the best. Low capacity cables are available, which should improve things, as if to minimize the distance between your router and the one line. Another thing: Take a good look at your microfilter. It is made of some ultra-cheap filters that are absolute crap. There are also some good units. In large part, you get what you pay for.
