Hitachi DS18DL Review – Don’t Buy the Hitachi DS18DL Until You Read This Review

While it may look like a toy at first with it’s bright green color, the Hitachi DS18DL cordless drill is nothing to take lightly. Out of all the professional drills currently on the market, this one definitely ranks at the top. Packing an immense amount of power and lots of different speed settings, this cordless drill is perfect for professionals. Whether you enjoy electrical work, plumbing, woodworking, carpentry, or any other heavy-duty jobs, you will find that this Hitachi can do everything you need it to and more.

First let’s talk about the power. The Hitachi DS18DL comes packing 570 in. lbs. of torque, a 22-stage clutch, and 4 different speed settings. Most drills only have 2 speed settings so this one doubles all the others and I think you will enjoy that. This Hitachi chews right through wood, metal, and aluminum like it’s nothing and is sure to help you finish any job quickly. When it comes to sheer power in a cordless drill, this is one of the best hands-down.

Next, we will discuss the comfort and grip. The Hitachi DS18DL weighs approximately 4.6 pounds and is 9.95 inches long. Even though it’s slightly longer than a lot of other drills, it’s still well-balanced and comfortable to hold in your hand. It has a soft-grip and the side-handle allows for even more control and stability. All around, this Hitachi is very comfortable to hold and won’t wear your arms out too quickly.

The battery life and recharge time are two more essential components to a great cordless drill and the Hitachi DS18DL will not disappoint you. This drill comes with two 3.0 Ah HXP 18-V Lithium-Ion batteries that last 3 times longer than traditional batteries. Surprisingly, they also weigh about 50% less than normal batteries too. These batteries also have a quick recharge time and since you get two of them, you will never have any downtime.

A few more really great features of the Hitachi DS18DL are the LED work light, 5 position belt-hook, 2 bit holders, spindle lock, and carbon brush.

All around, this Hitachi has everything you need if you’re a professional and need a heavy-duty drill to complete your projects.
