When charging a SKIL cordless palm-sized screwdriver, how long do you leave it plugged in?

It took a while, but I found the owner’s manual on the Skil website http://www.skil.com and they recommend that you charge this drill for 3 hours prior to use. The advertising I saw on other sites said that it would hold a charge for 18 months, though I would be surprised if that is actually the case.

You can leave this little driver plugged in and it won’t hurt anything, though I’d charge it up all the way and then disconnect it. It’s not meant for commercial use, so you should have some warning as to when you’re going to need it. I would have thought that it would charge much faster, but because it’s little and the battery isn’t removable, it obviously has a smaller charger.

The main thing that kills cordless tools, besides careless tradesmen, is extreme heat and cold. The manual recommends that the drill is kept between 40 and 105 degrees F.
