Entering apartment without notice?
Last Friday, maintenance people came into my apartment to replace a door lock on my patio. The work order was submitted Jan 31 and they came and replaced it (without a key lock) and did not say they would be returning.
A month and half later they replaced it with a key lock. Now they are saying my satellite dish is “protruding beyond your lease space” off my balcony. I used a pipe bender to make it hug the wall. It doesn’t look bad at all very clean and I was going to paint it to match the stucko. It doesn’t stick out any further than anyone else’s dish.They ended up pulling out some cabling I had tucked around.
Anyway, I never received a 24 hour notice to enter my apartment. The work order says I gave them permission to enter but that was in Jan and I never received word of a possible return after the initial replacement with out the lock. Do I have any grounds to complain to management that I did not receive my notice?
Yes you can complain…regardless that there is a work order they have to notify you when they will come in…this gives you notice that someone is entering and the choice for you to be there..the only time no notice is needed is if it were an emergency such a fire, water leak or some other hazard which could be stopped to minimize damage.
