Using Oracle Load Testing Tool

Are you planning to use Oracle tool for load testing your oracle application?

The tool has come a long way in past few years in terms of integration with Oracle applications. Empirix Load Testing tool and other point tools have been integrated along with Oracle Applications for providing a quick testing environment.

The tool is a good start for beginner and doing standard load testing runs, however when dealing with complex applications, various non-Oracle applications and RCA you will need other industry standard load testing tools.

Here is a flow to get started on Oracle Load testing, details of which are given as tutorial on Oracle website.

EBS/Forms Load Test Script Validation

EBS/Forms scripts are comprised of HTTP and Forms requests

HTTP validation occurs as usual

Forms validation is performed automatically:

Connection / communication errors flagged

Status bar text automatically validated

Can insert manual checks with getStatusBarText()

Components the script interacts with are automatically validated

Oracle Forms applications must be Web-deployed through a browser

Scripts will automate both HTTP and Forms protocol requests

• Forms protocol also referred to as NCA (Network Computing Architecture)

OpenScript uses an HTTP proxy and interfaces with JVM to

record both HTTP + Forms protocol requests

• Prior to recording EBS/Forms scripts, step through the

transaction at least once in a browser

• Ensures that necessary JVM and client-side components have

been downloaded before you record

• Record your transaction to capture both Web and Forms events

to your script

Scripts should be parameterized
