Which side of a packaged hibiscus cutting do I plant?
I just brought home a hibiscus cutting from Kauai, and the instructions on the package are very vague. It’s about 3 inches long, and is painted red at one end. It’s probably a silly question, but which end do I plant? The red one or the other end? Has anyone else ever planted these?
The “red” is probably some type of sealer, maybe even wax – if it is wax, you’ll want to scrape it off or cut it off. That’s the end to point down.
I’ve rooted hibiscus in water and by using rootone and moist potting soil. Both methods work.
