Stick Sanding
Can i sand the square toe of a graphite hockey stick to make it round without damaging the stick?
the guy who said to heat it, how would i heat it and then let it cool?
Sanding exposes the foam – which can cause water log – and compromises the structural integrity that comes with a “capped” design that you find in most graphite blades. The CCM Vector line and the Montreal Nitro, however, have sandwich constructions that are much more forgiving to this type of “customization”.
Heating the blade will cause the internal foam to expand, resulting in either a pregnant bulge or weakened/damaged foam that will lead to premature breakage.
As long as you are aware of these risks and the fact that all warranty claims are voided once you heat or sand the blade, knock yourself out. Lot of the pros tinker with blade silhouettes, lies and curves, but they don’t pay for their sticks either…
