Torch Butane Refillable
i’m trying to mount a go kart engine to my go kart frame.?
the engine is new and doesn’t fit the frame, and it doesn’t match the mount. will a 5 dollar butane torch hold the bottom of the engine to the frame?

i’m not sure if my frame is steel or aluminum, and i’m not sure what the bottom of the engine is either. That says it will melt aluminum, and i looked online to see the melting point of steel which is around 1500 average, and that gets up to 2375, so in theory it seems like this would work but i thought before i bought everything, i would get some more advice
or any other ideas how to mount this to the back of my gokart (cheaply)?

This little e-bay torch looks like a glorified cigarette lighter. These are used to melt low-temperature solder when joining very small electrical wires.
Don’t be so lazy. Buy a small 3/16 piece of hot rolled steel and make an engine mount and drill holes to match the motor and and kart frame. Bolt everything together with adjusting slots. Geepers, the motor is probably aluminum and the kart frame is probably steel. What happens if you could weld the motor to the kart? How are you going to adjust the chain drive? How are you going to remove the motor for something bigger and better. You’d better learn how to decide what parts are made of what! Find a machinist on your street or town. They could teach you in ten minutes what metals you’re working on.
