Can anyone recommend a decent Gas/Gasless Mig Welder?

Can anyone recommend a decent Gas/Gasless Mig Welder for wrought iron work & home made go-karts must be able to purchase it in UK Thanx for reading this

If I were you buy I would buy one of the well known name brand welders not one of the cheap off brand types. I am not sure that these are sold in the UK but Miller, Hobart, Thermal Arc, Lincoln are all good machines. Talk with some of your welding suppliers there to see what they recommend. Ask them what is the repair/return rate on the unit. Any well known machine you would get should last quite a while as long as you take care of it. Gas less (flux core) mig is OK but not good for strength. I would go with a 75/25 (75% argon/25% co2) mix gas and solid wire for the best results. Pure argon is mostly used for aluminum mig or tig welding (its costly). I have had a Hobart mig welder for 20 years now and not one problem with it. Good luck.
