confused about impact wrench?

i know its the ones mechanics use, but do people use them around their house hold instead of drills now? most of them are air pressured, but i heard some are electric and or battery powered as well. how well do those work compared to a battery powered drill? im new to this. thanks

The primary use of an impact wrench is removing and installing nuts and bolts, such as lug nuts on your car. They do come in air powered, electric and battery operated. The difference between an impact wrench and a drill is the impact wrench has a square drive ie. 1/4″, 1/2″ or 3/4″. Drills have a chuck which opens and closes as onto a drill bit or screw driver bit. A good cordless drill is best for household uses. Impact wrenches are for working on cars and such.
