Wheel Disc
is the diameter of disc on a car braking system related to the size of wheel?
I was wondering about the damage that might be caused to the disc itself when a wheel strikes a glancing blow on a kerb for example. Is the height of the disc from the road surface considered when the braking system is designed.
A car’s brake disc or drum is completely inside the rim of the wheel, so it’s very well protected. There is very little chance you’d hit a curb hard enough to touch the rotor.
