What do you do to get rid of all the “twirly birds” in rubber mulch?

Last year I bought rubber mulch for use around my house. And now that spring is here, there is a tree that is dropping a LOT of twirly birds all over the rubber mulch. Any ideas on how I can get all those twirly birds out of there without getting rid of the rubber mulch?

I am not familiar with rubber mulches.

You could either leave the maple samaras or as you call them, “twirly birds”, to decay or you could vacuum them out.

You’d need to see which vacuum or vacuum cleaner setting would take up the samaras and leave the mulch. If there is any moisture at all do NOT use an indoor vacuum cleaner as you could set yourself up for bad shock. Try an indoor-outdoor shop vac first.
